Calming effect
When an ingredient in dog food is referred to as 'calming', it means that this ingredient should help to make your dog calmer and more relaxed. Such calming ingredients are often used for dogs that are prone to anxiety, nervousness or overexcitement.
These calming effects can be achieved through various ingredients. Natural ingredients such as herbs (for example valerian, camomile or passion flower) or certain amino acids (such as tryptophan, which is also known in Turkey for its calming effect) are often used. These substances have an effect on the dog's nervous system and can help to reduce stress and anxiety.
However, it is important to note that not every dog reacts to these ingredients in the same way. Some dogs may benefit from these ingredients, while others may show no change in their behavior. Additionally, such products should always be used as part of a holistic approach to behavior modification that includes training and environmental adaptations.
