Hydrating agent

In dog nutrition, the term "hydrating agent" refers to an ingredient or substance that helps to increase or maintain the moisture content in dog food. These agents ensure that the food remains juicy and moist, which is not only more appetizing for your dog, but also aids fluid absorption. Hydrating agents can be used especially in dry food or snacks to prevent them from being too dry and hard to chew. Typical hydrating agents are, for example, vegetable glycerins or certain sugars that bind water and thus improve the texture of the food.
