What is arrabbiata?
Arrabbiata means "angry" or "furious" and refers to a tomato sauce that is seasoned with chili, garlic, onions and herbs. The spiciness is intended to reflect the passion of the cook. Arrabbiata is a classic of Italian cuisine and is usually served with penne or spaghetti.
Disadvantages of arrabbiata for dogs
However, arrabbiata can also have some disadvantages for dogs if it is fed too often or too much. For example:
- Chili is too spicy for dogs and can cause stomach irritation, diarrhea, vomiting or even burns in the mouth.
- Garlic and onions can be toxic to dogs in high doses and can lead to destruction of red blood cells and life-threatening anemia.
- Salt is harmful to dogs and can lead to dehydration, kidney problems or high blood pressure.
- Cheese is difficult for dogs to digest and can lead to flatulence, constipation or lactose intolerance.
Arrabbiata for dogs should be avoided because of its spiciness.
