The history of the Canaan Dog

The Canaan Dog is one of the oldest known dog breeds and originally comes from the Middle East. Over 2,000 years ago, it was used by the Bedouins as a herding dog and guard. The breed survived in the wild and lived in desert areas where it adapted to the harsh conditions. In the 1930s, Dr. Rudolphina Menzel, an Austrian cynologist, began to tame and train these wild dogs to be used as working dogs and later as family dogs.
