It is best to buy it from a butcher or specialist shop and avoid packaged goods from the supermarket. If you want to feed the poultry liver raw, you should freeze it first to kill any parasites.

How can I feed poultry liver to my dog?

There are various ways to give your dog chicken liver. You can, for example

  • feed it raw as part of a BARF diet
  • boiled or steamed as a side dish with dry or wet food
  • Dried as a snack between meals
  • pureed or ground as a feed supplement.

Regardless of how you prepare the poultry liver, you should be careful not to add any spices or other ingredients that could harm your dog. You should also keep the portions small and reduce the total amount of food accordingly.
