Hemp oil can be mixed into the feed as a food supplement or given directly into the mouth. The dosage depends on the quality of the oil and the weight of the dog.   • CBD oil: CBD oil is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant and contains cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive substance that binds to the body's own cannabinoid receptors. CBD oil can help with various ailments such as anxiety, stress, pain, epilepsy or cancer. CBD oil can also be mixed with food or given directly into the mouth.   • Hemp seeds: Hemp seeds are the fruit of the hemp plant and contain fatty acids as well as protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Hemp seeds can be used as a snack or as an ingredient in homemade dog food. The dosage depends on the size and needs of the dog. Please make sure that the hemp seeds are unpeeled and unroasted.

What are the disadvantages of hemp for dogs?

Hemp usually has no or only minor side effects for dogs if it is given in the right quantity and quality. In rare cases, however, there may be intolerances, allergies or interactions with other medications. Possible symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, loss of appetite or behavioral changes.
