Bach flower essence

A representation of Bach flower essence

Bach flower essence is a natural remedy made from the flowers of certain plants. It was developed by the English doctor Edward Bach, who was convinced that each flower promotes or harmonizes a certain emotional quality or mood.

Bach flower essence is not only used for humans, but also for animals. For dogs in particular, it is said to help solve or alleviate various behavioral problems or emotional difficulties.

The benefits of Bach Flower Essence for dogs

Bach Flower Essence has the advantage that it has no side effects and does not interact with other medications. It can therefore be used without hesitation.

Bach Flower Essence is intended to activate the dog's self-healing powers and help it to regain its inner balance. There are 38 different Bach flower essences, each of which is said to have a different effect on the dog's psyche.

For example, Agrimony (agrimony) is said to help the dog to become more honest and confrontational, while Aspen (aspen) is said to reduce fear and insecurity. Depending on the dog's individual character and situation, one or more Bach flower essences can be selected and combined.

The disadvantages of Bach flower essence for dogs

Bach flower essence also has some disadvantages or limitations. On the one hand, the effectiveness of Bach Flower Essence has not been scientifically proven and is based on experience or belief. Secondly, Bach Flower Essence cannot cure or replace physical illnesses. It should therefore always be seen as a supplement to veterinary treatment.

Furthermore, Bach Flower Essence cannot bring about any profound changes in a dog's behavior. It can only have a supportive effect and help the dog to adapt better or relax. However, the causes of the dog's behavior must always be identified and addressed. This also includes appropriate training and occupation of the dog.

How is Bach flower essence used in dogs?

Bach flower essence is usually administered as drops. They can be put directly into the dog's mouth or mixed into the drinking water. The dosage depends on the size and weight of the dog. As a rule, four to six drops per day are sufficient.

The duration of use varies depending on the dog's condition. Some dogs only need a few days or weeks to show an improvement. Others need several months or even years.
