Alblinsen

A representation of Alblinsen

Alblinsen are a special type of lentil grown in the Swabian Alb. They are not only delicious, but also healthy and sustainable.

What are Alblin lenses?

Alblinsen are small, round lentils of a light brown to green color. They belong to the legume family and are rich in vegetable protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Alblinsen are also known as Alb-Leisa lentils and are a protected trademark of the Alb-Leisa organic producers' association. The lentils are grown and processed by over 140 organic farms in the Swabian Jura.

What are the benefits of Alb lentils for dogs?

Alblinsen can be a good addition to dog food, especially if you want to feed your dog a partially or completely vegetarian or vegan diet. Alblinsen provide high-quality protein, which is important for muscle building and regeneration. They also contain a lot of fiber, which aids digestion and increases the feeling of satiety. The vitamins and minerals contained in the lentils support your dog's immune system, nerve function and blood formation.

Alblinsen have even more advantages: they are grown regionally and organically, which is good for the environment. They are also easily digestible and low in allergens, which is good for sensitive dogs. And they are versatile: You can use them as a main ingredient or as a side dish, feed them raw or cooked, or make them into treats.

What are the disadvantages of albumin lentils for dogs?

Alblins don't have many disadvantages for dogs, but there are a few things you should be aware of. Firstly, you should make sure that your dog drinks enough water when eating lentils. This is because the fiber swells up in the stomach and can otherwise lead to constipation. Secondly, you should make sure that your dog does not eat too many lentils. This is because lentils also contain phytates and oxalates, which can inhibit the absorption of minerals such as iron or calcium. Therefore, only ever feed a small amount of lentils (approx. 10% of the total amount) and combine them with other ingredients such as meat or vegetables.

Alblinsen are a healthy and regional ingredient for your dog. They provide your dog with plenty of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals and are guaranteed to taste good. They are also organic and sustainably produced, easily digestible and low in allergens. However, you should make sure that your dog drinks enough water while eating lentils and not too much so as not to impair the absorption of the minerals. If you follow these tips, you can offer your dog albumin lentils from time to time and give him a treat.
