Acai powder can be used as a dietary supplement for dogs to support their health. The effect of acai powder on dogs depends on the dosage, quality and individual tolerance. Possible positive effects of acai powder for dogs include

  • Strengthening the immune system: due to the high concentration of antioxidants, acai powder can strengthen the immune system of dogs and protect them from infections.

  • Theobromine poisoning: Acai berries contain theobromine, a substance that is also found in chocolate and is toxic to dogs. Nevertheless, care should be taken to ensure that the dog does not eat too much acai powder or has access to other foods containing theobromine.

How to dose acai powder for dogs?

A general recommendation is to give about 1 gram of acai powder per 10 kilograms of the dog's body weight. This corresponds to about half a teaspoon per 10 kilograms. The powder can be mixed into the food or mixed with a little water and given as a treat. It is advisable to increase the dosage slowly and observe the dog's reaction. If there are signs of intolerance or overdose, the powder should be reduced or discontinued.
